This method was originally advertised in an impressive circular. Colin Davey advises in the circular that the method was brought to his attention by Charlie Soames, “a professional gambler always betting in large amounts each way and nearly always in Handicaps”. When asked why he only bet in Handicaps, Charlie advised, “I only bet on improving horses and you can find them a lot easier in Handicaps. Also, the prices in Handicaps are a lot bigger which allows me to back them each way”. That’s the same opinion as Stewart Simpson, the guy who wrote the book called “Always Back Winners”. He said in his book that Handicaps are a lot easier to bet winners in than most punters think. After Colin had managed to put Charlie’s System together, he checked it against a few years of racing and confirmed that it did work as well as he had been told. The strike rate of the Win and Placed Horses was OVER 70% and the prices still around 6/1. Some of the horses win at much bigger prices, some as big as 14/1.
Sold by Colin Davey at £97 and he advises that it is worth a lot more.
